OSTMS(Motorcycle/Trycycle) Wing Inaugurates New Zonal/LG Excos ...as Osun Transportation Commissioner, Oyedele urges them on transparency

The Commercial Motorcycle and Trycycle riders unit of the Osun State Transport Management System(OSTMS) has inaugurated new Zonal and local government Excos across the State.

The colourful event brought together Commercial Motorcycle and Trycycle riders from across the State who converged in Osogbo, the State capital for the event.
Dignitaries at the well attended swearing-in ceremony were: the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, Chairman, Osun State People's Democratic Party(PDP), Mr Sunday Bisi, Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Sesan Oyedele, SA Transportation, Hon. Yakubu Adejare among others.

The riders had earlier converged at the popular Freedom Park in Osogbo where they had a rally before embarking on a walk round major roads of Osogbo the State capital.

Speaking shortly after the inauguration, Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Sesan Oyedele urged the new leaders at the Zonal and local government levels to be transparent to their members as well as the State government.

He urged them to see themselves as Tax Marshals in the bid to help the Ministry of Transportation improve on the collection of taxes and other levies that are due to the State Government through ticketing.

The Commissioner enjoined them to see the Ministry of Transportation as their destination whenever there is a crisis, stressing that his office is always open and ready to listen to their complaints.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon. Yakubu Adejare urged the riders in general to always comply with traffic rules at all times.
Earlier in a welcome address, the Chairman, OSTMS(Motorcycle and Trycycle riders unit), Mr Oyeniyi Sikiru Ayobami AkA Ado Igbona thanked the Commissioner and the entire management of the Ministry of Transportation for cooperation and making the job of commercial riders easier in the State.

The Commissioner was accompanied to the programme by the Permanent Secretary, Mr Isika Yahaya, the SSA 1 and 2 on Transportation, Hon. Hameed Adewale and Hon. Layi Shadipe respectively other management staff of the Ministry.
