OSUN STATE GOVERNOR COMMENDS TB DIAH/ USAID/ NTBLCP FOR DONATING ULTRA MODERN DATA ANALYTIC EQUIPMENT

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, expressed gratitude to the Tuberculosis Data Impact and Communication Hub (TB DIAH), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the National Tuberculosis Leprosy Control Program (NTBLCP) for their generous donation of ultra-modern data analytic equipment to the State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro.
The Governor conveyed his appreciation during the official handover ceremony of the tuberculosis program unit situation room, held at the premises of the Osun State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo. Represented by the Commissioner for Health, Barrister Jola Akintola, he highlighted the importance of the collaboration between the state government and its partners in enhancing healthcare services across Osun State.
He commended USAID for its consistent support of health projects in the state and reaffirmed the administration's commitment to providing quality and affordable healthcare services to the people of Osun State. He emphasized the significance of data-driven approaches in improving health program activities and pledged full support for initiatives aimed at leveraging data for better healthcare outcomes.
The Governor also lauded Osun State's achievements in tuberculosis control, noting the state's efforts in detecting and treating TB cases and its national recognition for outstanding performance in TB case notification. He expressed pride in the state's TB program unit and stakeholders, acknowledging their dedication and the numerous awards received for their exemplary work.
Dr. Akindele Adekunle, Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health, reiterated the government's commitment to renovating and upgrading primary healthcare facilities across the state. He solicited further assistance from partners, including the provision of solar power, to enhance healthcare service delivery.
Dr. Isiaka Adekunle, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, thanked USAID and other partners for providing the Tuberculosis program unit situation room, emphasizing the importance of data in monitoring and evaluation. He highlighted the role of the situation room in facilitating data communication and sharing with the TB office in Abuja.
Dr. Abayomi Oni, Permanent Secretary of the Hospitals Management Board, described the project as a significant milestone and expressed gratitude to all partners involved. He underscored the importance of the situation room as a vital tool for measuring TB control efforts.
Representatives from NTBLCP, USAID, WHO, IHVN, and SHEAD praised the Osun State government for creating an enabling environment for the project. They emphasized the importance of data in healthcare and the significance of maintaining the situation room for continued success in TB control.
Dr. Deji Gbadamosi, State Program Manager for Tuberculosis Leprosy Control Program, outlined the vision and purpose of the TB situation room and demonstrated its functionality through the TB Dashboard.
In closing, Dr. Akeem Bello, Director of Public Health Services, thanked Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke for his support and assured partners of the situation room's effective utilization for its intended purpose. The event concluded with the ribbon-cutting and official handover of the situation room by Chief of the Party, Dr. Abiodun Hassan.
