...... APC Leaders Frown At Gov Dapo Abiodun For Imposing Chairman Candidates

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ogun State have expressed displeasure over the imposition of the party's  Chairmanship candidates in the 20 local governments by Governor Dapo Abiodun ahead of the local government elections in the state.

According to some of the APC leaders who spoke under the condition of anonymity, the Governor's action is not different from how former governor Ibikunle Amosun treated them during his tenure.

Recall that Amosun is also known for imposition of his preferred candidates for elections in the state without input of the party hierarchy in some cases.

Some of them while speaking with the medium said there is the need for Governor Abiodun to call for a meeting between the leaders in the affected local governments to appeased them for the unity of the party.

They said the governor has relegated them as names of candidates nominated through primary elections were not picked and considered by Abiodun. 

The affected local governments include, Abeokuta North, Abeokuta South, Ijebu North, Ijebu East, Obafemi Owode and other seven others.

In Abeokuta North Local Government, findings revealed that the APC Chairperson, Alhaja Faidat Akintunde Sarumi connived with the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi to fraudulently imposed Lanre Oyegbola who lost at the primary.

Oyegbola according to findings do not have iota of respect for party leadership in the local government.

Some of the leaders according to investigation have been in politics for decades and more experienced than the governor in handling such critical situations.

 

One of the APC members in Abeokuta North said: "The shenanigans going on in over 5 -7  local governments is disheartening . APC members are aggrieved about the imposition of local government chairmen by his Excellency. The governor need to called leaders to a meeting and appeased them.

"The governor is not in our local government, so, he cannot choose for us. The leaders are the one who handle all primary elections particularly Abeokuta North.

"Also, according to a source, t's confirmed that the governor is compensating his boys that supported him during presidential primary elections for Osinbajo and going against all the President Bola Tinubu's supporters."

"The attention of the governor also need to be called and a steering warning needs to be given to his Excellency with the madness going on in Abeokuta North from Alhaja Faidat Akintunde who has been lobbying the SSG to imposed her preferred candidates.

"The governor has already imposed a rude proud saucy guy who has no respect for the leaders due to the power of imposition. He sees himself as a self made now with the backing of Faida who ruined Ayorinde's future in Abeokuta North. 

"There has been a rumour that Alhaja Faidat and Lanre, the imposed chairman are planning to remove from the lists of Councillors signed by the leaders.

"If the governor and SSG are not careful they will blow up that local government atmosphere which is on the verge of explosion. A stern warning to Mr governor.  He has done the worse by imposing the chairman. 

"But if any of the Councillors list is touched by do mule Faidat/ Lanre Oyegbola or SSG,  you will learn the real local politics. it’s a promise."

"We also learnt that Faidat has lobby for an appointment for Fajimi who is dating her daughter, a married woman with two children, a dirtiness from the pit of hell."
