TINUBU, ADELEKE EXTEND KINDNESS TO OSUN ELDERLY, DOLE OUT N50M
By Shola Aderinto,
In a heartwarming display of kindness and compassion, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, and Titilola Adeleke, the Osun State First Lady, have jointly supported 250 elderly Osun state citizens with a whopping N50,000,000.
The generous gesture, which was part of the Elderly Support Scheme, a social investment program under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), saw each beneficiary receive N200,000, a significant increase from last year's N100,000 grant.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Titilola Adeleke, who represented Senator Tinubu, emphasized the importance of prioritizing health concerns and appreciated the continuous commitment of the government to improving the livelihood of the elderly.
The event, held at the Local Government Service Commission Hall in Abere, also provided free medical check-ups and sundry items to support the health and well-being of the elderly. This thoughtful gesture was widely appreciated by the beneficiaries.
Musiliu Alamu Olasupo, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Senator Remi Tinubu and Mrs. Titilola Adeleke for the kind gesture. He noted that the support gives them a feel of true democracy.
The program was attended by several dignitaries, including the Wife of the Head of Service, Mrs. Mojisola Aina, and the Osun State PDP Women Leader, Hon Temilade Kalid.
Other notable attendees included Chief (Mrs) Mary Otunla, Iyaloja General, Mrs Atinuke Oyawoye, former PDP South West Leader, Representative of Babaloja, Chief Muibi Olaoye (JP), and Vice Chairman, Osun Muslim Pilgrim Board, Alhaji Ibrahim Mudashir.
The event was a testament to the commitment of Senator Tinubu and Mrs. Adeleke to the welfare of the elderly and vulnerable members of society. Their selfless act of kindness has brought joy and relief to many families.
Supplication was offered for Osun First Lady, the state Governor, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and Nigeria by extension, praying for continued peace, prosperity, and good health.
