IMOLE FREE MEDICAL AND SURGICAL OUTREACH KICKS OFF IN ILESA ........Commissioner urges orderliness, assures everyone will be attended to

As part of efforts to improve the quality of life and ensure healthy living for the residents of Osun State, the state government, under the leadership of Senator Ademola Adeleke, has launched the Imole Free Medical and Surgical Outreach at the General Hospital, Ilesa.
Representing the governor, the Commissioner for Health, Barrister Jola Akintola, expressed gratitude to Senator Adeleke for his unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare in the state. He commended the governor for prioritizing the health and well-being of Osun citizens.
Residents of Ilesa, including children and adults, came out en masse to benefit from the free medical services. The commissioner outlined the program's schedule across six state hospitals in Osun. He noted that the outreach will run in Ilesa on the 21st and 22nd of January, before moving to other locations.
Barrister Akintola also praised the dedication of the medical team and prayed for their strength to continue this important work. He urged patients to remain orderly, assuring them that everyone would be attended to.
In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary Health Care Development Board, Dr Michael Oyerinde commended the good efforts of Mr. Governor in primary health care delivery in the State, he also gave kudos for the large numbers of beneficiaries on ground who conducted themselves well at the event by not allowing stampede to occur.
Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Coordinator of the Imole Free Medical and Surgical Outreach, Dr. Isiaka Adekunle, explained that the initiative provides free treatment for various medical and surgical conditions.
Dr. Adekunle detailed the scope of the outreach, which includes:
Medical treatments: For malaria, cough, hypertension, diabetes, and other ailments.
Surgical procedures: For conditions such as cataracts, pterygium, hernia, hydrocele, lipoma, keloids, and more, catering to men, women, children, and the elderly.
Eye care: Free eye tests and treatment for vision impairments, including distribution of glasses.
Dental care: Treatment for toothaches and general oral examinations.
Screenings: For cervical cancer and breast cancer.
Dr. Adekunle highlighted that the outreach is being conducted across six centers, with two state hospitals selected from each of the three senatorial zones in Osun. The medical teams are spending two days at each center. For Osun East, the outreach covers Ilesa and Ife. The next phase will take place in Ikirun from January 28th to 29th.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Reachel Oluyeba, who had been suffering from an eye problem for three years, expressed her gratitude to the state governor for the initiative. She appreciated the free glasses she received and prayed for Senator Adeleke’s continued success and good health.
Another beneficiary, Mrs Adeniji oluwatosin whose son underwent successful hernia surgery, thanked the medical team and the governor for saving her child.
The Imole Free Medical and Surgical Outreach is a testament to the state government’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to its people.
