Dr Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe has said that many Nigerians may have forgotten that the asset public declaration to the Code of Conduct Bureau by the All Progressive Congress (APC) ex-President Mohammed Buhari on the assumption of office, the suit which other high-ranking officials followed, was a commitment to transparency and accountability, and that importantly, prevented illicit wealth accumulation and abuse of office in public life.
Continuing, the APC chieftain and Senate aspirant from Osun East Senatorial District added, the late president made significant progress in good governance and charged Nigerians to recall that his government's strict compliance with the Public Procurement Act dealt a grave blow to embezzlement, ensured value for public spendings, and aided infrastructure development, economic growth, improved access to services, and prioritized basic needs of the governed.
Ogungbangbe, the Chairman of Aviation Fuel Marketers Association of Nigeria (AFMAN), stated this on the death and funneral of the demised former president.
He extolled President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the acknowledgment of the impact of his predecessor's government on the development, stability, and progress of the country, as he also accorded him a dignified farewell yesterday, in his country home, Daura, Katsina State, amidst national mourning, with dignitaries, world leaders, and other notable figures in attendance at the state burial, in a shared moment of grief, reflection, tributes, and unity, marked by military ceremonial services, and national flags, still flying at half-mast.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CITA ENERGIES noted that the departed Buhari demonstrated transformational leadership, courage, bounded to ethical restraint and strategic timing, with the eye on the future of Nigeria.
Prince Ogungbangbe, the scion of the Ajagbusi Ekun Owaloko Royal Dynasty of Iloko-Ijesa in Oriade local government council area of Osun expressed standing trust and confidence in the continued potency of the President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda (RHA) for the nation's advancement on the ascending order, and prayed the nation for sustainable prosperity.
