NHRC in Partnership with Network of NGOs in Osun State(NETNOS) Hosts Women and Youth Group in Osun State

As part of the 2024 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, on Tuesday, 4 December, 2024, the Osun State Office of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) partnered with the Network of NGOs in Osun State (NETNOS) to convene a roundtable meeting with women and youth groups in the state.

The meeting which held in an interactive and collaborative atmosphere, focused on identifying human rights violations peculiar to women and girls in Osun State. Participants engaged in robust discussions, highlighting various forms of violations, including domestic violence, economic deprivation, and harmful traditional practices.

Key recommendations were proffered to address these issues, emphasizing the need for stronger enforcement of laws protecting women and girls, increased awareness campaigns, and the establishment of more support structures for survivors of abuse.
