CURFEW IMPOSED ON IFON, ILOBU COMMUNITIES AS OSUN GOVERNOR SEEKS END TO COMMUNAL CLASHES

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has imposed a curfew on Ifon and Ilobu communities, effective immediately, in a bid to restore peace and order to the areas.
The decision to impose the curfew, which will run from 7pm to 7am daily, was taken after a recent outbreak of communal clashes between the two communities. According to a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, the curfew is necessary to prevent further escalation of the crisis.

Governor Adeleke has also deployed a contingent of security personnel, comprising the Army, Police, and Civil Defence, to the affected areas to maintain law and order. The deployment is aimed at ensuring that the dispute is resolved amicably and that peace returns to the affected areas.

In addition to the deployment of security personnel, Governor Adeleke has directed the immediate arrest of anyone found to be instigating violence or causing a breakdown of law and order in the affected areas. This move is aimed at ensuring that those responsible for the clashes are brought to justice.

The state government has also constituted an enlarged committee of stakeholders, comprising representatives of the communities, service chiefs, and traditional rulers, to resolve the dispute permanently. The committee is expected to work closely with the state government to find a lasting solution to the crisis.

Governor Adeleke has urged all stakeholders in the affected areas to cooperate with the state government and security agencies to ensure the return of peace and normalcy. He has assured the people of Ifon and Ilobu communities that his administration will do everything possible to ensure that the dispute is resolved amicably.

The communal clashes between Ifon and Ilobu communities have been a recurring issue in the area, with several lives lost and properties destroyed. The state government's decision to impose a curfew and deploy security personnel is aimed at bringing an end to the clashes and restoring peace to the area.

The people of Ifon and Ilobu communities have been advised to remain calm and go about their lawful businesses, as the state government is working tirelessly to resolve the dispute. The government has also assured the people that it will do everything possible to ensure that the curfew is lifted as soon as possible.
