OSSIEC Chairman Commends Staff, Assures Them of Support

The Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), Hashim Akintunde Abioye, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Electoral Officers (EOs) and Assistant Electoral Officers (AEOs) for their dedication and cooperation during the recently concluded local government election in the state.

In a statement, Abioye acknowledged the challenges faced by the staff, including disruptions by security agents and security threats to staff, property, and the electorate. Despite these obstacles, he commended the staff for successfully executing an emergency strategy to ensure the election's success.

Abioye assured the staff that they are valued and appreciated, and that the commission is working to ensure the release of staff arrested by the police while on duty. He also promised that allowances for ad-hoc staff will be paid soon.
