Dr Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe has called for swift global transformation of women's rights and privileges, requiring nations to intervene, institutions to adjust and cultures to evolve, with the changes ultimately to reflect at the sequential levels of policy, politics and governance for the rapid development of women.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CITA ENERGIES stated this, on Saturday, in tandem with the theme of this year's International Women's Day, IWD, tagged "Accelerate Action" to mark the year's edition, saying, fast tracking global women development would cause increased opportunities for the woman to pursue her legitimate dreams and, afford the society maximum benefits.
"The wave of the imprints of the boosted global development of women will be gauged by its salutary effects on our Nigerian nation in terms of articulated and prioritized women issues and concerns for integration into development policies and processes of government. And in the circumstances to follow, I trust the well lit sensitivity of the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will enhance the credibility of the new transnational development of women," Ogungbangbe, the All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain from Osun East Senatorial District of the state, said.
He charged the IWD celebrants on the fundamentals of the place of women in nation-building, and asked them to get rededicated to eradicating vices that seem to dent one's public image, and instead, show a preferment for orderliness, as "your peace is national peace, to inhibit controversies and harbinger significant growth and development," according to Ogungbangbe.
He expressed commitment to improving the woman condition and her desire for mainstreaming in the public and private sectors of the economy, to push the boundaries of women empowerment and gender equality, even as he celebrates the excellence and achievements of Nigerian women, and hope of greater accomplishment ahead.
