As the holy month of Ramadan commences, Dr. Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe has felicitated with the global Muslims.
He expressed his warmest greetings to the muslim community, particularly in Osun State, acknowledging the significance of Ramadan as a period of spiritual reflection, fasting, and devotion to Allah.
According to the chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Ramadan is a sacred opportunity for Muslims to strengthen their faith, seek forgiveness, and pray for peace, unity and progress of the state and Nigeria, at large. He urged Muslims to seize on this holy month to rekindle spiritual lives, re-cultivate compassion, and stabilize understanding among people of different faiths.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CITA ENERGIES acknowledged the important contributions of Muslims to the socio-economic development of the nation, praising the values of hard work, resilience and community service associated with the faith. He expressed his appreciation for the role of Islamic organizations in nation building.
"As Ramadan begins, I implore Muslims to remember the less privileged, the sick, and the vulnerable in prayers and charitable endeavors. The importance of zakat and sadaqah as charity and voluntary giving, especially, during Ramadan is well known to all of us. I encourage Muslims to demonstrate compassion and generosity to those in need as enjoined in the Hadith of Prophet Mohammed," Ogungbangbe said.
He added that the people of Osun should use the occasion of Ramadan to promote interfaith understanding, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence. He emphasized the need for Muslims and Christians to work together to address common challenges, facing the state.
As Osun State grapples with various developmental challenges, Ogungbangbe expressed his optimism that the Muslim prayers and fasting during Ramadan would bring further divine intervention and guidance. He prayed for Allah's blessings and mercy upon the nation, asking for greater prosperity, and progress.
