President Tinubu, on birthday, is _Cedrus libani,_ legendary fortress for democracy and economy - Ogungbangbe
By ISAAC OLUSESI
Dr Thomas Ogungbangbe has depicted the President of Nigeria as the nation's guardian who would not ask the governed out for a picnic under the tallest tree at a time of storm, saying, President Tinubu is a legendary fortress as strong as _Cedrus libani_ the cedar of Lebanon, for the nation's democracy and economy.
He stated this on the birthday anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the celebrator as truly invested in the task of nation-building and does not prioritize any egoistic, sectional and sectarian agenda in his government, and personal life, sticking to principles and discipline, imbued with selflessness, courage, political leadership and dexterity as an embodiment of public good and people- driven cause.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CITA ENERGIES recalled Tinubu's spirit of national integration and unity that headlined his selfless sacrifices against the annulment of the June 12 1993 presidential election, and he was forced into political exile for some years.
And Tinubu's protracted legal battle against the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) federal might over the withheld funds for Lagos State when he was governor, his combat against PDP's presidential mockery of the rule of law, his persistent courage that formed the All Progressive Congress (APC)'s determined coalitions across the nation's geo-political zones and wrestled government power from PDP, and his political dexterity that reclaimed states lost by the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to PDP after the 2007 elections.
The APC chieftain from Osun East Senatorial District of the state commended the Tinubu democratic institutions, full of ideas, projects and programmes, making giant strides and impact on the nation by his visionary and inclusive leadership style, and the nation's economy put on the path of prosperity.
Prince Ogungbangbe noted, the renewed hope agenda of the nation's president is profoundly meaningful, optimizing the welfare of the people of Nigeria, with such mantra, elsewhere in the world, ruins the economic policies of other ill-fated nations and shrinks the middle class to pave the way for extreme inequality.
Dr Ogungbangbe wishes Mr President best of times ahead with the First Lady's support and commitment to the increased betterment of the nation. "She's a rare role model for women in Africa," he pointedly said.
