NSCDC Arrests Two for Rape and Child Molestation in Osun

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun State Command has arrested two individuals for alleged rape and child molestation.

According to a press statement released by the NSCDC, the first suspect, 22-year-old Ahmadan Rufai Akorede, a school teacher, was apprehended for allegedly molesting a 7-year-old female pupil in Ilesa.
The State Commandant, CC Igbalawole Sotiyo, revealed that Akorede started molesting the girl in 2024 and was arraigned before the Magistrate Court in Ilesha on March 26, 2025.

Akorede allegedly thrust his manhood into the victim's mouth during school hours. The suspect pleaded not guilty to the one count charge and was subsequently remanded at the correctional service in Ilesa.

The second suspect, 20-year-old Tiamiyu Oluwatobi Samuel, was arrested for allegedly having carnal knowledge of a 12-year-old girl in Gbongan, Osun State.

Samuel had known the victim for three years and had asked her to be his girlfriend, but she rejected him. He allegedly dragged her into his room, threatened her with a cutlass, and had carnal knowledge of her.

Commandant Sotiyo expressed concern that despite the government's commitment to severe punishment for child molestation and rape cases, some individuals continue to engage in such acts.

The NSCDC warned parents and guardians to be vigilant and keep a close watch on their children and wards. The command also urged anyone with information about suspicious activities related to child molestation or rape to report to the NSCDC.

The suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation. The NSCDC assured the public that it will continue to work tirelessly to ensure justice is served.

The arrest of the two suspects is a testament to the NSCDC's commitment to protecting vulnerable members of society, particularly children and women.
