Ogungbangbe On Palm Sunday, Political Opposition To President Tinubu, at Easter Summit

By ISAAC OLUSESI

The government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated growth and development, marked by increased global influence and beneficial improvements, despite facing political opposition.
Special Apostle Dr Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe who's also a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from the Osun East Senatorial District of the state, said this in his discussions at a Easter Summit last night in Lagos on the place of Palm Sunday in governance and administration. The summit put together leaders in Christian theology and politics, and had Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem and Holy Week as focus, with the discussants' discretion to draw on perspectives considered germane to the discussion.

On similarity parallels with political oppositions, Special Apostle Ogungbangbe of the Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church (Worldwide) said that Mr President is not alone in facing opposition. He added that Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, celebrated as Palm Sunday and held all over the world, yesterday, drew practically, significant attention and opposition from the crowd.

And similarly, just as the direct and open opposition to Jesus' triumphant entry paved the way for His mission of salvation and redemption, the current opposition to the government of Nigeria has paradoxically driven  meaningful improvements in politics, economy and society.

"Jesus Christ, notwithstanding opposition to Him, brought spiritual freedom, forgiveness, and reconciliation, making life and living hopeful, meaningful, and purposeful and ultimately, transforming and renewing mankind for eternity," Prince Ogungbangbe said, quoting copiously from the Bible to support his delivery at the summit.

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CITA ENERGIES described the global Palm Sunday as a commemoration of the day Jesus triumphantly rode a donkey, not warhorse that redefined the concept of power and power holding to reflect servant leadership and humility, and trust and concern for others' needs and well-being.

Special Apostle Ogungbangbe told the summit that the Palm Sunday remains the precursor to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, His death, and resurrection. And the lessons derived from the significant event continue to resonate with the world, its economy and international diplomacy.
