Courtesy Visit to the Osun State Muslim Community by the National Human Rights Commission
As part of the ongoing 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), led by Mrs. Nneka Anigbo, the Osun State Coordinator, paid a courtesy visit to the Osun State Muslim Community.
The delegation was warmly received by the President of the Osun State Muslim Community, Alh. Adeleke Olawuyi. The visit, focused on the importance of eliminating violence against women and girls. The commission discussed how the Muslim community, as a faith-based group, can contribute to addressing this pressing issue and promoting human rights within society.
The NHRC emphasized the role of religious organizations in fostering peace, equity, and protection of the rights of vulnerable groups, reaffirming its commitment to building partnerships to achieve these goals.
